Pre Litis Team strongly believes in fulfilling the obligation to assist through pro bono work those individuals and groups unable to afford legal services. We pledge to commit attorney time equivalent to at least three percent of the firm’s turnover to work on pro bono matters.
Our program “Seeking Solace” is the firm’s long-standing commitment to pro bono work that has been mainly based on the belief that such work is part of lawyers’ fundamental role as members of our profession and as officers of the court.
Our basic approach to pro bono work is to allow our lawyers to select their own pro bono matters, as long as they do not conflict with or contravene other clients’ interests.
In suitable instances, we have, as a firm, marshaled lawyers’ teams to pursue larger matters that could have a significant impact on shortcomings in the prevailing system.
Under the “Seeking Solace” program, our lawyers (both litigators and non-litigators) represent individuals and organizations of limited means in matters including not-for-profit incorporations; the preparation of wills; divorces for battered women; child abuse; and senior citizen cases. Our advocates also counsel and mediate to resolve the conflict between opposing parties, if possible.
We are grateful to our clients/individuals who financially contribute to our Pro Bono program, “Seeking Solace.” For transparency, we share with donors the contact information and case details of the individuals (donee) whom we represent through our pro bono work “Seeking Solace.”
